Verdalia Energy & Goldman Sachs (Spain, 2023)

In collaboration with Arthur D. Little, we served as strategic advisors to Verdalia Energy – a company 90% owned by Goldman Sachs – in the development of a portfolio of biomethane projects in Spain. We conducted due diligence on more than 10 project sites, evaluated investment and technical risk, and assessed the feasibility of each initiative. Additionally, we led a thorough market study of 14 EPC companies and facilitated a structured selection process, including the drafting of RFIs and RFPs. Our insights played a critical role in de-risking Verdalia’s investment strategy and securing strong partners for project execution.

E.ON Biogas (Sweden, 2020–2021)

We were engaged by E.ON and Sweco to carry out a comprehensive technical due diligence of E.ON’s biogas operations in Sweden, which included three biogas plants, five upgrading facilities, and several refueling stations. Our scope covered plant performance evaluation, operational risk analysis, and investment viability. We managed on-site visits, developed a complete due diligence report, and organized the data room for prospective buyers. Our role was instrumental in facilitating a smooth and transparent sales process for one of Sweden’s largest biogas portfolios.

Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Spain, 2024)

On behalf of the Ministry, we led a full-scale market study of the Spanish biogas sector to identify export opportunities for Danish technology and service providers. We participated in a targeted fact-finding mission, met with key local stakeholders, and presented actionable market insights to Danish companies. The results contributed directly to the formation of a biogas export alliance and laid the foundation for stronger Danish presence in the Spanish renewable energy market.

Danish Energy Agency & Viegand Maagøe (Mexico, 2024)

As part of Denmark’s international energy cooperation, we conducted two feasibility studies for biogas solutions in Jalisco, Mexico – one for a major tequila distillery and another for an agricultural operation. We gathered essential technical and regulatory data through a field mission and developed tailored business cases for both projects. Our findings are scheduled for presentation to Mexican stakeholders, with the aim of accelerating biogas adoption in the region and strengthening Danish-Mexican clean energy ties. We conducted due diligence on more than 10 project sites, evaluated investment and technical risk, and assessed the feasibility of each initiative. Additionally, we led a thorough market study of 14 EPC companies and facilitated a structured selection process, including the drafting of RFIs and RFPs. Trenton Biofuels (New Jersey, USA, 2012–2015)

We provided full consulting and engineering services for the development of a waste-based biogas facility designed to process 100,000 tons of municipal solid waste annually. The project included basic design, regulatory alignment, and financing advisory, including support for obtaining funding through the Danish Export Credit Agency (EIFO). Our work enabled the project to move from concept to execution, supporting circular waste management and renewable energy production in the U.S. We conducted due diligence on more than 10 project sites, evaluated investment and technical risk, and assessed the feasibility of each initiative. Additionally, we led a thorough market study of 14 EPC companies and facilitated a structured selection process, including the drafting of RFIs and RFPs. Biogas Tønder (Denmark, 2015–2018)

We managed the full project development process for a large-scale biogas facility designed to treat 930,000 tons of manure and biomass per year. Our responsibilities included conceptual design, environmental impact assessments, risk analyses, and stakeholder engagement. We led negotiations with suppliers and ensured compliance with all regulatory frameworks. The result was one of Denmark’s largest and most advanced biogas plants, aligned with national climate goals.
